Hello,
We have a special event coming up on Monday, January 27th due to the celebration of the Chinese New Year, the year of the Rat.
During our lunch periods we will be having taste testing guests. They will be providing taste testing of different Chinese sauced chicken, fried rice, and pot stickers.
The K-3 will be taste testing two sauces with the chicken and putting "smiley" cards in the bucket of the chicken sauce that they liked.
The 4th-8th graders will be able to try each one of the four sauces and fried rice and fill out a comment card.
The 6-8th graders will be able to try the additional pot stickers and will fill out comment cards as well.
The winning sauce will be featured in our menu on Friday, February 7th for lunch , to celebrate the closing of Chinese New Year.
This event is available to all the staff, hot lunch eaters, AND cold lunch eaters.
This should be an interesting lunch day!!
Look for the WINNING SAUCE on our February Lunch Menu.

Hello, my name is Rebekah Sass. I student taught at Sharon Community School this past school year. I graduated from UW-Whitewater this past December with my degree in early childhood education. As a student teacher I felt blessed to be at a school that supported their teachers, valued community and family involvement. I am very excited to be returning to Sharon as a first year teacher! As a child my dream careers consisted of being a veterinarian, mermaid or teacher. It was because of the amazing teachers in my life that provided the individualized support I needed that inspired me to become a teacher. When I am not at school I enjoy reading, watching movies, kayaking and snuggling with my puppy. I hope you enjoy your last weeks of summer vacation with your kiddos!
Hello! Don't forget, we have our daycare annual silent auction at open house. If you are able to donate a basket or item, please bring it to school by Thursday at 3:00 p.m. Thank you and happy bidding!
Meet Mrs. Welden
Favorite Hobby: My favorite hobby is spending time with my family (husband: Mike and daughters: Aubrey (2) and Delaney (6 months) and my dog (Justice). I also enjoy listening to live country music and shopping!
Why did you become a teacher: I became a teacher because I've had multiple teachers in my schooling that have established great relationships with my family. As a result, my goal is to build relationships with students and be one of the people in their lives that they can confide in. I also love seeing the growth of students throughout the year and as they make their way through the upper years of elementary school.
What are you the most excited about in regard to your new role at Sharon? I'm really excited about many of the opportunities that I am going to have in Sharon. I love teaching fourth grade and is a grade that I have a lot of experience in so I'm looking forward to meeting my new students and helping them grow this year in Math and Science. I'm also looking forward to being a part of the school community and working with many other great educators.
Years in education: 12 years
Anything else you want to add: My family and I have had a lot of changes this year beginning with the arrival of our second daughter in January. My husband accepted a new teaching and coaching position at Big Foot which has lead us this way. With that we have had a lot of moving to do over the course of the summer. I've also met some of the members of the Walworth-Sharon community and I love how welcoming everyone is!
